These DO protect flooring
I'm not sure why the last reviewer had issues with these- if you perform a "fingernail test" you can clearly see the difference between these casters and your typical nylon hard casters. I'm a big guy and when I roll around on my brand new hardwood floors with these I don't see a single scratch...

I would absolutely report it. Your personal safety and the safety of your coworkers and those being catered to takes precedent over the job. Granted, the re-serving of food if done properly might not be a problem, but I am assuming that it's probably not being done properly.
