l got a good one from Costco, rubber backed so it's non slip and also washable. l have it in the kitchen behind the door, it's about 4ft by 2ft, a shaggy type rug and it really helps to dry their feet off and trap the dirt.

You can buy a carpet tape that you fix under the rug which will stop them slipping. I think B&Q, Wilkinson's or any hardware store would sell it.....

Anti-slip solution for Ice Boards DIY | Board tests
We use grip-tape normally used as anti-slip for longboards. The grip tape is bought on running meter and we mounted the most hard grained grip-tape available on the local market. The non-slip solution should be comlemented with an aluminum beam, as show in the picture. The aluminum beam will work as non-slip and will provide additional stiffness to the Ice Board.
