Near-perfect product I hope I never have to use
Having only photos of this & similar items to make my decision, I was glad I chose this one over the others for several reasons: The shape of the handle makes it easy to grasp & is sturdy. The blade is well hidden so you won't cut yourself unless you're absolutely talented enough to do so. I'm... -
Hope never to use it but just in case
This is the last item missing in my flight bag. I tried it of plexiglass, regular glass and seatbelt fabric and it worked as advertise. Minor investment, huge live saving capabilities.

I would like to get a knife that has a seat belt cutter and glass breaking tip in case of an emergency for myself or a wreck alongside the road. Would I be able to keep this in my car to have it handy in an emergency?
Totally legal. Seat belt cutters are sold to be utilized in emergency situations and therefore are not classified as weapons.

Crews rescue man trapped inside pick-up truck
According to Colleton County Fire and Rescue officials, the single vehicle accident occurred around 1:40 p.m. Monday. The 911 caller reported the vehicle was on its side with one person trapped inside who was barely breathing.
Emergency crews arrived a short time later and found the man entrapped in the small pickup truck. The vehicle was traveling north when it left the roadway on a straight section of road, entered a deep ditch and struck several trees. A small oak tree crushed the driver's side.
The victim was wearing a seat belt and the air bags did deploy. The roof pinned the man in the driver's seat, pressing on his upper torso and head, compromising his airway. Firefighters and paramedics found the man unconscious with head injuries.
Crews forced open the passenger door and used hydraulic cutters to remove the roof, passenger seat and other sections of the truck to remove the man safely.
A medical helicopter flew the victim to the trauma center at MUSC.
