Nov. 3 — An officer was patrolling on South Whitehead Drive when he noticed a dark Jeep Cherokee and white Chevrolet pickup coming up Sixth Street approaching Whitehead Drive. The Chevrolet was traveling at a high rate of speed and ran up on the Cherokee. Both vehicles left the stop sign on Sixth St. headed north on Whitehead. The Chevrolet pickup left the stop sign spinning tires right behind the Cherokee. The officer turned the patrol car around and turned on blue lights to make a traffic stop on the Chevrolet. The Chevrolet turned left onto East Second Street. The officer caught up to the Chevrolet at the intersection of Second and Roy streets. The pickup pulled off Second Street onto South Roy Street at Carter Building Supply. There were two men in the pickup. They were being told the reason for the traffic stop when the officer got a smell of what seemed to be burnt marijuana coming from the vehicle.
