Man cited for DUI
An Ulster man was cited by state police recently on a charge of driving while under the influence.
According to information filed with Magisterial District Judge Tim Clark, Brian David Crockett, 53, has also been charged with driving on the wrong side of the road.
Police reported being dispatched to U.S. Route 220 in Towanda Township on July 21, to investigate several reports of a Chrysler Sebring being operated in an erratic manner. Police said they stopped the vehicle near state Route 2027, and observed several open beers cans inside.
While speaking to the driver, identified as Crockett, police said they detected a moderate odor of alcohol coming from his breath. Crockett was placed under arrest for DUI after he failed a series of field sobriety tests, police said, and transported to Memorial Hospital where he agreed to submit to a blood test. The test eventually revealed that Crockett's blood alcohol content was .118 percent on the day of his arrest.
